AXALP AirShow part I

This year my best friend and me decided to finally get to famous Axalp event in Switzerland. Event is build around 4-day schedule - two training days and two show days. We planned to be there on the first day of the show just to look around and visit nice airport in Meiringen. And it was good decision. Weather was as ordered: sunny and calm, not very windy. We departed from Warsaw late evening and were at the airport about noon. All night driving was not that bad although it was very crowded on German highways. Our route was leading from Warsaw through Wrocław, Nurnberg, Stuttgart, Zurich to Meiringen - small city in the beautiful valley.
So as mentioned on the first day we spent a lot of time at the airport watching F18 hornets and other aircrafts, mainly choppers. Then we drove high to the Axalp village to see how it's there, where to park on the next day and just to enjoy nice view from the top of the world. After sunset we got down to Brienz village where we reserved a hotel. It turned on to be a problem with the reservation (shame bookings.com - not recommended service!), but finally we got even better room in better hotel, so were very happy and really tremendously tired and sleepy. Next day wake up was scheduled to 4:30 am to be at the top parking at 5:30 am and get to the hill at 8:30 latest. But I'll write about the next day soon and now please enjoy some selected pictures from our visit to airport and reconnaissance in Axalp village...

On the picture below at the right top corner you can see building on KP hill - our target for next day - 3 hours of really difficult walking up with 15 kg backpack, nice...
